Whales in a Changing World - Banquet

---

Saturday evening's banquet featuring world-renowned cetacean researcher, Ken Balcomb, will be held at the Monterey Beach Resort.

The banquet will be held from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. We will enjoy a presentation from Ken, as well as the Poster and Photo Contest Awards Presentations.

The Beach Resort Hotel is just a short walk from the Embassy Suites Hotel. It is 1/4 mile from the Embassy Suites (a very easy and close walk) The Embassy Suites has also been kind enough to offer their shuttle to us for Banquet attendees.

Saturday's banquet will feature a choice of:

Chicken Oscar:
Grilled Boneless Breast of Chicken, Topped with Fresh Crab,
Steamed Asparagus & Topped with Hollandaise Sauce
Served with Herbed Rice Pilaf and Sautéed Vegetables

Mahi Mahi Provencal:
Marinated in Garlic, Olive Oil and Herbs de Providence,
Grilled and Topped with Sautéed Tomatoes, Capers and Olives
Served with Creamy Polenta and Sautéed Vegetables

Grilled Vegetarian Polenta Tower:
Sun-Dried Tomato Polenta, Stacked w/Layers of Marinated
Grilled Vegetables & Portabella Mushrooms,
Served with Red & Yellow Pepper Coulis

and will be followed by

Chocolate Mousse Cake with Raspberry Coulis

Following dinner, the Photo and Poster Contest Awards will be presented, then our Keynote Speaker, Ken Balcomb, will take the stage:

According to Ken, his talk, "Of Men and Whales: Changing Perspectives in a Changing World" will include ramblings extracted from what is left of the speaker's memory, and a few photos if he can find them in the jungle of celluloid and cyberflotsam that lives in his basement. Patience will be asked of the audience in the event of technical difficulties that may occur while blending formats and time-scales on a single memory chip.(I know this is one I don't want to miss!)

We hope to see you there!
